South Beach Demonstration Garden

In my garden, after a rainfall, you can faintly, yes, hear the breaking of new blooms.”

Truman Capote, American Author
Our Garden
The South Beach Demonstration Garden is located on the campus of the Oregon Coast Community College at 400 SE College Way, Newport (South Beach), Oregon. It's purpose is three-fold. It is a place where Master Gardner apprentices can learn the art and science of gardening. It is also a functional garden for growing food for the community and a quiet oasis where you can enjoy flowers and the hum of bees.
Arrange a Visit

The garden is open for viewing during the Community College regular hours. For a guided tour, Master Gardener volunteers staff the garden on Wednesdays from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm from May through October. They are also available to answer any of your gardening questions.

Volunteer Opportunities

Would you like a guided tour? Would you like to volunteer at the garden? Drop us a note. We'd love to partner with you in our garden.
