Challenges of Coastal Gardening

Are you new to the Oregon coast or a new gardener in the coastal area? If so, you’ll encounter some gardening challenges along the way. Come to this roundtable discussion to learn about solutions to common problems you may encounter when gardening on the coast. Participants are encouraged to save time for a self-guided tour of the on-site Lincoln City OSU Extension Service Demo Garden.

Winter Cover Crops for the Home Garden

Winter Cover Crops

Cover crops provide benefits in the garden, including improved soil health, mulch, increased organic material and increased microorganisms. Participants will receive a handout with resources and samples of cover crop seeds. Come early to explore the garden! The presentation will start promptly at 12:30. Questions welcomed before and after the talk.

Apples are one of the fruits that can be grown on the Coast. Learn how to get started, which varieties to consider and get a little help with deciding which ones to grow. Join us for an Apple Tasting following this introduction to Basic Apple Growing. Outside event, weather permitting. Come early to explore the garden!
